Discrimination

Starting in 2018, new law in Massachusetts makes it illegal for an employer to prohibit employees from sharing wage information with co-workers

Some employers currently prohibit employees from talking with each other about their wages, bonuses, etc. Revisions to the state’s Equal Pay Act will make that policy illegal, effective in 2018.  The Equal Pay Act is designed to ensure the free flow of wage information within the workplace. It is intended to have a gradual, long-term impact in eliminating discriminatory pay practices.
